My First Experience Using Essential Oils

Essential Oils

So, I’m not going to lie. I was, and have always been super skeptical about jumping on the essential oils train. I’ve known about them, very little about them at that, for about four or five years and it wasn’t until last week that I pulled up my big girl pants and placed an order.

I ended up purchasing the Pure Essential Oils brand and chose a variety pack of oils since I had absolutely no idea where to start in this world. My variety pack came with six different oils to start with. They are Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, Melaleuca, Frankincence and a blend called Lighten which is a stress blend. I needed this in my life. Afterall, life is far too short to be stressed!

My order also consisted of a 6 pack of roll-on bottles as well as a bottle of fractionated coconut oil. I had a few different options for carrier oils but chose this one as my first bottle.

I think I was most excited about the Lighten stress blend that this was the first thing that I mixed into a roll-on bottle after smelling all of the oils I purchased.

I’m literally writing this post while continuously sniffing my wrists. The aroma is absolutely glorious. So fresh and light smelling. (Wait…what does light smell like!? But seriously, you get my point, right?)

I’m going to write this post over several different days. I want to get a good feel for the oils I purchased. I have a lot of research to do before I start mixing up my blends! But here goes nothing!

So it has been a few days and I’ve been trying little things here and there around the house. I ended up using a few drops of Lemon essential oil on the inside of the toilet paper roll to give the bathroom a little extra nice smell. So far I am impressed!

I’ve also been a sufferer of headaches from as far back as I can remember. Let me tell you that it’s difficult to get through the day with my head pounding ridiculously! Looking at a computer screen honestly doesn’t help either! I’ve been experimenting with a few different oils and ended up with a blend that I love for headaches. I’m going to be sharing that one shortly, so stay tuned!

All-in-all, I am impressed with the oils that I purchased. I’m going to continue exploring different blends for many different things. Any suggestions on what I should try?

I get my oils from PURE. These oils are 100% pure oil extracts unlike some of the competitors. They are extracted directly from the botanical plant source and do not contain any synthetics or impurities! Get exactly what you expect to get with these oils! If you’re looking to order, you must do so directly from the company. I would be glad to provide you more information to do so! Leave a comment or shoot me a message!

  1. I have never used the oils before. I know I hear mostly good things from wearing them, to adding them to food or even cleaning with them. It’s definitely a better alternative then some items.

  2. I love love love my essential oils! I’d love to know your headache blend as I get them as well. My go-to for that right now is to diffuse some peppermint in the office while I am working. And my boys love the oils too, they call Lavender the “calming oil” and ask to diffuse it in their rooms at night!

  3. I can’t wait to try these 🙂 I only tried using essential oil once in the past when I made a DIY scrub. It was great actually. The only reason I didn’t try more is that there’s too many lol. But these seem nice to start with.
    Thank you for sharing 🙂

  4. I never used essential oils but I would love to try them. I sometimes use incense I like the sandalwood scent the most. I don’t know of they have an oil with that scent as well.
