I’ve been wanting to create a mood board for my future master bedroom for a while now. I haven’t had luck with convincing my other half that it would look amazing when it’s done. He is very plain-Jane, likes white walls with no pop of anything – me, well I love colour. It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do on your mood when it’s miserable outside.
I love teal, greys, seafoam green to name a few. I remember while I was growing up the colours I chose for my bedroom makeover. My parents chose to put a new addition on the house and the old dining room became my new room. My colour choice you ask? Well let’s just say that when you walked in on a sunny day, you had to squint your eyes, it was that bright. I chose a lime green and gosh was it my favourite! Since then, I’ve toned my colour choices down just a little bit. Check out some of my favourite master bedroom pieces in this blog!
For this particular room I chose the colour Beach Glass (1564) by Benjamin Moore, with accents of the Amherst Gray (HC-167) and Elmira White (HC-84) for the ceiling. If you can’t picture the colours I have just listed, you can see them below!
I have always been a big fan of dark wood with a hint of chrome and for my bed I found a gorgeous Chardon Sleigh bed by Darby Home Co. I am also a sucker for the bedroom sets and would will also find below the matching dressers and nightstands!
Isn’t that bed gorgeous! Now if only I had the room for it right now! I would scoop it up in a heart beat.
I follow several amazing and empowering women on social media outlets, and I am in love with a comforter set that one woman has in her master bedroom. I found a similar comforter set on sale on Amazon. My next bed purchase will be a king size, and it turns out that the king size set is on sale! Check out the Geneva Home Fashion 7-Piece Ella Pinch Pleat Comforter Set, Queen, White!
My room is almost complete. I’ve picked out my favourite large items, and it’s now time to get into some of my smaller favourites!
The next thing that I would add to my room is a night table. I always take a glass of water to bed with me to keep hydrated over night, and my cell phone has its spot on the side table at night to charge so I cannot go without one!
This night table is again by Darby Home Co. It’s the Chardon 3 Drawer Nightstand. I also find myself reading quite a bit before bed, so the three drawers really help with keeping a few little things out of site.
I moved onto the lighting. In my dream bedroom I picture a lot of natural light from windows, but in the evening you need alternate lights and for this I found a ceiling light as well as a small table lamp to sit on my nightstand.
Personally I have always had a ceiling fan in my room. Even though I never actually turned the fan portion on, it did collect a ton of dust and dirt. This light is a DINGGU™ Flush Mounted Luxury Contemporary Drum Ceiling Chandelier. The nighstand lamp is by Elegant Designs and in my opinion it is just that! I think it is gorgeous and will brighten up my room on a gloomy day!
There are a few final little things that I wanted to add to my room for now. The first is metal wall decor in the shape of a flower. I’ve really transitioned into this sort of art, and my love for canvases has grown drastically as well.
Finally I added this really nice Large Corner Wall Mount Shelf by Dayna B. I have some really cute vases kicking around at home and some fun little DIY projects I am going to fill this shelf with.
To finish it off I added some a large set of canvases of the beach. These are by Cao Gen Decor Art and so pretty.
It’s just a matter of time before I have the room to add all of these pieces to my dream master bedroom!
What are some of your favourite bedroom pieces?
